The world’s most luxurious superyachts have begun to arrive in Monaco ahead of the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix. The annual race is one of the most prestigious events on the Formula One calendar, and it attracts a star-studded crowd of celebrities, sports stars, and business leaders.
Monaco is well known for its glitz and glamour, as famous for the celebrities that hang out in its trendy promenades, bars and restaurants as for the annual Monaco Grand Prix, which has been held around the narrow, winding streets of this chic principality since 1929.
With the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix taking place this weekend, the super wealthy have started to arrive on their yachts, which are undoubtedly the best place to watch the action, see and be seen.
Some of the most notable superyachts that have arrived in Monaco include the iconic 115m Ahpo, which has recently been sold for an undisclosed price (it was listed for sale at $330m!) and is to be renamed Lady Jorgia before entering the charter market for the first time this season. Expect to spot a rotating cast of the rich and famous.

Other yachts already moored in or anchored off Monaco ready for the chequered flag to drop include 73m Titania, 126m Octopus, 70m Talisman, and relatively small but still opulent yachts like 45m Pandion Pearl.
These superyachts are equipped with all the latest amenities, including swimming pools, Jacuzzis, helipads, and movie theatres. They also have crews of up to 50 people, who are responsible for everything from cooking to cleaning to providing entertainment.

The arrival of the superyachts is a major boost for the Monaco economy. The yachts generate millions of dollars in revenue for the local businesses, and they also attract tourists from all over the world.
Peter Harrison-Hill, co-founder of luxury yacht charter brokerage HELM, says “There is nowhere in Monaco better to watch the Grand Prix from than the deck of a superyacht. And if you’re lucky enough to be moored in the northwest corner of the harbour, you’ll have front-row seats to the action as the cars come zooming past. Some of the yacht parties are legendary, and it’s a great place to bask in the Cote D’Azur and rub shoulders with the great and good.”

The 2023 Monaco Grand Prix will take place on 26-28 May. The race is expected to be a close one, with local favourite Charles Leclerc hoping to shake off his recent bad luck in his home race. Last year’s race winner Sergio Perez will want to fight his teammate and defending world champion Max Verstappen for the win. Veteran Fernando Alonso is also tipped to perform well.
The arrival of the superyachts is a reminder that the Monaco Grand Prix is more than just a sporting event. It is also a major social event that attracts some of the world’s most wealthy and powerful people.
